LAYOUT DEPARTMENT HEAD
A year or two after David joined the Layout Department at DNA Productions he became a Layout Supervisor and then ultimately the Layout Department Head. The Jimmy Neutron television series won multiple ANNIE awards during the original run on Nickelodeon. IMDB is a good place to get more information on the cast and crew.
LAYOUT = DIGITAL CINEMATOGRAPHER
Storytelling with the camera is the welcome plight of the Layout department. Action scenes were the most fun and the Jet Fusion 1 hour special was packed with them. Please enjoy some of David's layout and animation work in this downhill sequence from Operation: Rescue Jet Fusion.
JIMMY NEUTRON BOY GENIUS
Working as a character animator on this film fulfilled a lifelong dream for David. As a young boy growing up in San Antonio Texas, David would often wonder what it would be like to be an animator on a feature film. He used to practice drawing every day in the hopes he would one day be good enough to fulfill that dream. Thanks to John Davis and Keith Alcorn that dream came true.

JIMMY NEUTRON FEATURE FILM
This is the most significant batch of David's animation from the Jimmy Neutron feature film. Many forward-thinking and innovative approaches were utilized in this film, and ultimately they contributed to JN being nominated for an Academy Award.
THE ANT BULLY
The Ant Bully film was David's first exposure to Houdini software and featured an amazing all-star cast. David joined the Layout crew just as he was finishing up the final episodes of the Jimmy Neutron TV series. David worked as a layout artist on nearly every shot in this sequence here:
OLIVE THE OTHER REINDEER
Olive was David's first full project with DNA Productions as a character animator and part-time TD. The look and feel of this holiday special is one of David's personal favorites. You can see the whole show on YouTube here:
David's first foray into professional animation at DNA Productions was a series called Jingaroo. The series featured the talents of many local artists from the DFW area including Jeff Plant and Mark Menza, both of whom David worked later on in his capacity as a musician.
